JESUS PAID THE PREMIUM TO INDEMNIFY SINNERS

Through the protective shelter that God Himself proposed in His Son, Jesus Christ, the whole world under threat of destruction from mounting unrepented sins is invited to TAKE COVER (hilaskesthai).  This merciful (eleos) protective measure is proffered solely on account of the radically innocent blood of Jesus, whose criminal shedding demanded much more than the mere revoking of the lives of his slayers could ever possibly RECTIFY OR ATONE FOR. Nothing short of HIS OWN RESTORATION TO UNENDING LIFE AND EXTRAORDINARY HONOR could conceivably correct that EXTRAORDINARY SIN!

Thus was God’s righteousness unveiled before an astonished human race whose concept of justice could never attain to a truly just corrective of this magnitude.  The prima facie rightfulness of such an act of executing justice can hardly be disputed, regardless of its totally unprecedented status.  It evidently took such a shocking CAPITAL CRIME to set the stage for God to adequately unveil the overflowing plenitude of His most authentic JUSTICE.  What could scarcely have been expected was the EXTRAORDINARILY UNPRECEDENTED  REPARATIONS FOR WHICH THIS KIND OF DEATH QUALIFIED THE LORD JESUS!  Its sheer magnitude dwarfed any imaginable judicial awarding of damages resulting from merely human jurisprudence, if previous historic precedent was any gauge.  This is how the graciousness of God came to be MAGNIFIED TO WORLD-INCLUSIVE PROPORTIONS so as to far exceed the borders of Israel and embrace all of earth’s nations within the Messiah’s covenantal saving benefits and agelong blessings.  [9/22/10; 1/15/22]

Jesus paid the price/cost to provide the corrective for human sin.  This does not mean, however, that he ‘paid for sin[s].’  The price he paid to rectify the condition of sin was a wrongful, agonizing death at the hands of his own countrymen in collusion with pagan occupiers under the influence of the supreme Enemy of God and humanity.  By this means he took full responsibility for indemnifying from sin and was, accordingly, awarded due compensation via the superfluity of Holy Spirit.  It is this Spirit that actually constitutes the active ingredient which cleans human hearts from the corruption of conscience by transgressions driven, in turn, by endemic cravings or lusts of our mortal flesh.

Accordingly, Jesus paid the cost of securing the antidote, which is the Holy Spirit his Father promised.  Thus do Father, Son, and Holy Spirit cooperate in sin removal.  [9/22/10]

Jesus obviously pardoned sins often throughout his private life and public career, yet HE COULD NOT CLEANSE OTHER HUMAN HEARTS FROM SIN UNTIL HE GAVE HIS SOUL IN SACRIFICE AND WON COMPENSATION FROM GOD FOR THIS RUGGED FAITHFULNESS.  THIS ‘PAYMENT,’ WHICH IS NOTHING LESS THAN THE HOLY SPIRIT FROM GOD HIMSELF, IMPARTS THE UNCREATED POWER TO RESTORE THE ENTIRE CREATION, EVENTUALLY.  HOWEVER, AT PRESENT THE CLEANSING OF SINS FROM OUR MORTAL BODIES IS THE REQUISITE DOWN PAYMENT WE NEED TO ENDURE OUR OWN ADVENTITIOUS TRIALS OF FAITH IN LOYAL OBEDIENCE.  [9/22/10]

JESUS PAID THE PREMIUM TO INDEMNIFY SINNERS FROM THEIR SINS.  All who come under his coverage by faith are sheltered (hilaskesthai) concerning their sins, and thus protected regarding their ultimate deadly consequences.  God Himself has provided this ultimate life insurance.  This is actually the only ‘life insurance’ worthy of the name since it does not merely provide a monetary reimbursement in case of death, but PROVIDES ACTUAL LIFE IN CASE OF DEATH!  [9/22/10]
